It’s been a long time since I updated on my progress with Dave’s blanket. Since leaving my old job and not doing night shifts anymore, I have obviously lost a lot of time to work on my crochet, so production has slowed down an awful lot. But the progress is slow and steady! I have been going through a phase recently, of crocheting more often, and have now put my square count up to a total of 265 squares…which means I have less than 100 to go! Exciting!
It feels really good to finally be on the home straight with it. I started this project on the 1st September, last year, so I am looking forward to being able to start something else once it is done. Don’t get me wrong, I am far from bored…I’m really looking forward to adding my next few rows and really seeing it start to look finished. There’s still a little way to go…96 squares…but it’s so much less than when I started a year ago haha!
Have you guys ever embarked on massive projects like this one? How did they turn out? Did you manage to finish or did you give up halfway through?
I must admit, it has been tempting to put the project to one side and do something else for a little while, just for a bit of variety. But, knowing myself as I do, if I stop I won’t get started again. I’ve been keeping myself motivated recently, by browsing more blanket projects on Ravelry, and adding to my queue, so that I can see all of the awesome things I can have a go at making once the blanket is finished (and there is so much!!). I’m not sure what my next project will be, after Dave’s blanket…probably something smaller, that I can finish quickly. I’ve definitely got the blanket bug though, so I doubt it’ll be long before I start another one!
