Feeling Green

The title of this post is appropriate to a few different things!

Firstly, I finished my Simply Crochet cactus the other day – it was a free gift with the last issue, and those of you who buy the magazine will have probably had a go at it yourself, but here is my little one “Julio”!

I wish I’d used safety eyes on him as they’re a lot neater, but he was a lunch break project and funnily enough I don’t keep a supply of those at work! He’s still cute though! Julio now lives on the phone desk and keeps an eye on all of us.

The second shade of green is unfortunately health related. Dave and I had our yellow fever jabs on Monday (we are going to Kenya on our honeymoon) and mine has made me feel really unwell. I was so hot today, aches and pains and serious tiredness, so I came home after lunch. Not like me at all, as I haven’t had a day off since I started this job over a year ago (it frustrates the hell out of me!). I couldn’t sleep at that time of day, so I chucked a film on and did a bit of work on my latest project – a rooster for my lovely friend Sam.

I’m pleased with my neat stitches here! And I absolutely adore this colour (Pistachio by Rico Cotton Essentials DK). It’s so sunny and happy. This pattern seems to be working up well though – I’m using Rooster Gordey by Elena Pichugina – and it’s all fallen into place so far! Fingers crossed the finished item will be awesome! I won’t post many pictures of the wip, because Sam will see (I know you’re probably reading this!) but I will fill you all in once it’s finished, sent off and received by it’s new Mummy!

Anyway, time for bed – I need an early night to get myself ready for work again tomorrow. Also, you probably won’t hear from me much over the weekend (maybe once or twice on Facebook), as it’s my hen party. I have no idea what is planned but will let you all know afterwards!
