Melman the Giraffe

Last week, I finally got my act together and finished two projects! The first of which was the Janice Cyr giraffe pattern that I’ve been working on for the last year.

Melman

I can’t believe this took me a year to complete – shameful really! My problem was the legs. I get bored and distracted so easily, so repeating the same thing four times over is a real struggle for me. I set myself a deadline last week though and finally got him finished, and I’m so happy with the outcome!

I was so glad he stood up!!

I used Sirdar Snowflake yarn again for this one, like I did with it’s sister project “Zippy the Zebra”. It’s a beautiful yarn when it’s all finished and worked up, but it can be a bit of a pain to use – especially when you mostly crochet at night and can’t really see what you’re doing!

Hello!

I finished him with oversized orange buttons on his leg joints (yes, he does sit), brushed up the yarn a little and voila! Finished! Melman, as he has been named, now lives with Oliver, who apparently really liked him. It’s always nice to know that your effort has been appreciated.
